Kathleen ShanahanOur resident marketing and PR authority, Kathleen has provided clients with strategic counsel, messaging and positioning, overall corporate marketing and public relations planning that map to specific objectives. As vice president of client services, she lends her more than 15 years of experience to help her clients develop executable plans.


Her role at BOCA Communications is to ensure client success and happiness. Additionally, beyond her traditional marketing strategist role, several clients leverage her as their "outsourced" Vice President of Corporate Marketing. In essence, she is their in-house council and strategist while BOCA executes against the agreed upon plans. She works hand-and-hand with CEO and attends executive board meetings on behalf of her clients.


The beauty of Kathleen is that while she'll attend the board meetings on your behalf, she will also roll-up her sleeves and execute the work. A quintessential saying she has is the following, "build a plan; execute a plan and deliver a result. One can talk strategy until they are blue in the face, but if you can’t get the job done, then what is the point of the discussion?"


With stints at Blanc & Otus, Eastwick Communications and Schwartz Communications, she has represented the likes of Ariba, BEA Systems, Borland, Devicescape, MCI, Motive, Narus Software and Persistence (Progress). As director of worldwide corporate communications at Wind River Systems, Kathleen oversaw C-level corporate communications and product publicity, speaking and customer programs, and media and analyst relations throughout the United States, EMEA and Asia/Pacific.


When she's not impressing clients, Kathleen is traveling the world. An expert on Argentine customs, her personal tagline is "Viva la Vida" (live life).
