Amy is a Vice President of media at BOCA Communications out of New York City. In this role she works across accounts to develop a strategic media strategy for her clients while simultaneously killing it on media relations. She knows the media and she knows how to get the right kind of media coverage her clients want.
In a career spanning agency, consulting, and senior in-house management positions she has built a strong reputation as a collaborative strategic partner, compelling storyteller, media maven, and go-to writer. Prior to BOCA, she was the SVP of marketing communications at Major League Gaming, the professional video game league. In that role, she directed all corporate and consumer marketing communications activities, including corporate awareness, sponsor PR, and partner communications.
Prior to joining MLG, she was a principal with The SutherlandGold Group, a San Francisco-based firm providing high-level communications counsel for clients who are defining the next era of digital media, entertainment, and advertising. Amy's deep industry insight as well as an extensive professional network helped companies such as Major League Gaming, Visible World, Doppelganger, Brightcove, and Massive, Inc. design and execute PR strategies to drive awareness and build leadership around the changing landscape of advertising and media.
During six years at Blanc & Otus, most recently as vice president, Amy helped companies across the spectrum of business-to-business, venture capital and business-to-consumer markets achieve their communication and business goals, including Ariba, Goldman Sachs, MSNBC, PeoplePC, Polaris Venture Partners, Primedia, Upromise, VeriSign, and When.com. She was also a founding member of B&O's Mountain View, California office, which she helped grow from 13 to 35 people in its first year.
As a marketing manager at Miller Freeman, Inc. (now CMP), Amy developed and managed strategic and tactical marketing plans encompassing direct marketing, advertising, public relations, and research for four annual high tech industry events.
Amy holds a BA in French from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, two kids, one cat, and three goldfish.
